In my mind, Wario is Wario, a character distinct from the Mario series even though he participates a lot in the Mario universe (like how Yoshi and Donkey Kong do).
It's true that Super Mario Land 3 is Wario Land, like how Super Mario World 2 is Yoshi's Island. Wario Land spawned its own sequels and Yoshi got a few platformers of his own, like Yoshi's Story and then the GBA/DS ones.
But I included Yoshi's Island in the Mario Mania chapter in the Super NES Game Atlas because it at least featured Baby Mario, whereas I don't recall Mario being present at all in Wario Land...is he?
Like I said about the Mario edutainment titles in the other two topics, it shouldn't matter a ton if they're included in here or not. If they are mapped, I'll gladly take them, and I'm sure everyone will still appreciate them.
Perhaps I am a little rigid about sticking to the exact series outlined by the original NES Game Atlas (hence all the Disney games, just because of Duck Tales and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers). It is true that the Game Boy has (and introduced) notable series like Wario, Kirby, and Pok?mon. Hmmm...
Maybe it's a can of worms or a Pandora's Box I don't want to open just yet. For a guy who doesn't have time to map games anymore, often I feel like these "Game Atlas" requests are a little much. Thankfully they're of series that will probably get mapped eventually anyway, but if I add Wario, Kirby, and Pok?mon "chapters" to this (and a Donkey Kong Country "chapter" to the Super NES Game Atlas) then people are going to say "why isn't [this] or [that] in here?" I'm going to have to draw the line somewhere, so for now I might as well keep it where it is, saying that I'm sticking to the book.
If people want certain series mapped, so they can draw attention every time a map is made for it, nothing is stopping them from making their own topic (a la marioman's Mega Man topic, which I think is the most popular topic thread here on these forums, actually).
