Request #3: Looney Tunes VG Maps
« on: August 03, 2012, 08:43:34 pm »
There are lots of Looney Tunes games that need mapping, not just Disney games.

Here's my list of Looney Tunes games that ought to be mapped:

Road Runner's Death Valley Rally (SNES)
Wile E.'s Revenge (An Unforeseen game for SNES)
Desert Demolition (Sega Genesis)
Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday (SNES)
Speedy Gonzales Los Gatos Banditos (SNES)
Sylvester and Tweety: Cagey Capers (Genesis)
Speedy Gonzales: Cheese Cat-tastrophe (Sega Genesis)
Duck Dodgers: The Marvin Missions (SNES)
Road Runner (Arcade) DONE! ...mostly
Road Runner: Desert Speedtrap (Sega Master System/Game Gear)

I'm a big Looney Tunes fan by the way. :)

With Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage maps completed, would anyone like to do another one of my Looney Tunes maps requests? :)

You might want to add the SNES game "Looney Tunes B-Ball" to your list, although I have recently mapped it.

By the way, Cagey Capers is actually for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive platform. The SNES game entitled 'Sylvester and Tweety' has been discontinued, but a prototype rom exists with the unfinished work.

EDIT: I am have begun work on Road Runner's Death Valley Rally, but don't count on me to finish it quickly. Those long and complex stages are harder to compile than any Sonic game I've ever played. I am more used to the classic and cinematic styled platformers.

Well I checked it out and yikes I see why will quit.  That is some murderous mapping.  This is why most of the mappers around here use special tools instead of just screenshots to make their maps.  Unfortunately such tools are usually game specific and I doubt anyone has made any for this game.

Road Runner's Death Valley Rally is NOT a nightmare.

It is a really fun game. :)

I know it can be like Sonic the Hedgehog a bit, but the graphics are to DIE for. :D

What would any of you say to a Speedy Gonzales Game?

I don't mean the game itself I mean the mapping process looks like a nightmare.

I know it can be a toughie, but... sometimes we all have to face our worst nightmares.

Even it means taking a long time to do it.

What's so difficult about platform games, especially ones like this or Sonic, is getting all the out of the way parts.  You need stacks of codes or a level editor and both are a pain to deal with.  But I'll make you a deal.  I'm trying to get in contact with some other mappers and I can't seem too.  I need their permission to post their work to another site:
https://www.vgmaps.com/forums/index.php?topic=2034.msg17844#new

At this point I doubt I'll ever get in touch with Captain Drake or Amir Azadur, but if you can get Xyzbilliu, Maquiladora, Dammit9X, and 1up to agree to let me use their stuff I'll take out four of your Loony Toons requests.  One for each mapper.
