Chuck Rock II (SMS)
« on: November 22, 2008, 02:10:39 pm »
This may well be another game I never get inspired to work on ever again, but for now I'm exercising my autostitcher and hacking skills (wrote me a moon jump hack that makes it mappable).

I'm not sure whether I'll add enemies to these; it's a lot easier to make them without.

I'm only slightly familiar with the first Chuck Rock game, but I have to admit that the graphics for this game are really good! Frankly, they seem almost too good for the SMS.

Ah, must be great to be able to hack your way through obstacles the way you do...

What!? I'm jealous, alright :( ?

Ah, but the years of learning Z80 assembler code have left me scarred... and unable to do it on any system other then the SMS/GG.

For some reason, the game cuts off here in Easy mode, so I have to play through again in Hard mode to get the rest of the levels.

OK, so it turns out I was making it cut off because my hack to stop palette cycling had the side effect of skipping to the credits...

Anyway, here it is, completed.

No apostrophes in the level names?  WTF.
