Wizards & Warriors III (NES)
« on: September 24, 2006, 08:08:11 pm »
I am now mapping all the remaining areas in this game.  These include all the interiors, hidden passages, and the passage to Malkil.  This time, I'll put all the interiors of an area, such as the Town of Piedup, on one map arranged the way the buildings are shown on the main map.  So hopefully,  all will go well here.

Here's what I have so far with much more to do.

Wait, what?

I thought this game was complete...?  It has a thumbnail and was on the MotM as well, wasn't it?  o_0

I don't think I said it was complete. I remember you asking me about it before making it a MotM and I said I something like "just the significant areas".  Now I use the technique of laying the areas across one map that I didn't use then so I now decided to do all the rest I thought was pointless before.  I just looked at the archive of the last board and saw that TerraEsperZ seemed to know there was more to it.  What I'm doing here will be much like the interiors I did with the Star Trek buildings, arranging them to line with the respective buildings and other entrances shown on the main exterior maps, which will be redone a little as well including adding a few pixels cut off the edges and new title blocks as well.  So it'll be much a total redo.

Well, seemed there was a tiny bit of confusion here. Anyway, I'm just glad that the game will get additional maps and thus will finally be complete :D

Also, I've noticed that the practice of 'completing' pixels not visible in-game is becoming a wide-spread mapping technique. It's cute, in the way that we as a community are evolving so-to-speak.

Notice any difference?  It's not just the title block.

I put a border around each room the color of it's respective exterior.  Except the silver one which is a hidden room.

The rooms are arranged, as best as I could, as they appear in the exterior map.

Is it good enough as is?

That checkerboard floor reminds me of a certain other NES game.
