Vampire (Sega Master System)
« on: April 29, 2007, 06:14:51 pm »
From the age of Nintendo's "if you develop for NES, you only develop for NES" policy comes Vampire.  Guess what game it's like?  I've wanted to do this for some time, so I'm calling dibs on it.

You misspelled Castlevania in the topic title.

Was this actually made by Konami, though?

No, that's why it's called Vampire.

Weird that it's not on GameFAQs.  The SMS version, anyway.  Well, I've seen games missing from there before...

GameFAQs has it listed as Master of Darkness, which is an alternate title for the game.

Hmmm, should I list that title too, then?  I listed Gyromite as both Gyromite and Robot Gyro, after all...

The SMS version only exists as Master of Darkness in the wild; the Vampire ROM seems to be a prototype. On the Game Gear it was released as "In the Wake of Vampire" in Japan and "Master of Darkness" in Europe. I don't know if the levels are the same as the SMS version.

I suppose I should have researched the title a little more.  If it's too big of a deal I can change the text on the maps and send Jon the different logo.
