5000th map!
« on: November 11, 2006, 08:44:22 am »
After that huge update yesterday (the one with the most games, too, thanks to the all-new MSX section with 19 new games), I thought we ended up with 4999 maps.

But then I remembered that Rick Bruns's interactive Legend Of Zelda flash map doesn't show up in CompuPic Pro!  So we had actually hit 5000, and the 5000th map was also Rick Bruns's!

So I'll dig up the 4000th map topic from the old forum topics and provide an updated list of the statistics, since someone mentioned that they liked that.  (EDIT: Darn, I can't find that topic, but that's okay, I can come up with those stats again.)  The smallest and largest maps may have changed not only because of new maps but because of the mega PNG optimization that I did a while ago.

If I remember right, the 3000th map was Alien Syndrome Round 6 NES version, and the 4000th map was  The 7th Saga - Kingdom of Bilthem.

Thanks, KingKuros.  The post has been edited.  If you hadn't mentioned that one time that you had both the 3000th and 4000th, I wouldn't've even remembered who did them.

You left out most systems for a single game (Alien Syndrome).  Something like that.

I am pretty sure we'll have our 6000th map this weekend, if anyone cares.

Well, there are maps sitting in my inbox this week, so the 600th map is likely going to be one of those already there.  Either a new person or Geminiman will get that honour.

I probably won't bother with the stats.  Most wouldn't have changed much at this point anyway.  The raw numbers, yes, but the percentages I doubt would change much.

Actually, the maps I got this week are corrections!  With the exception of Rick Bruns's maps, but they're not enough to put it over 6000...

Oh, never mind, someone just sent in a whackload of Sega Master System maps...whoa...these are going to take a while to put up...

That reminds me, I have a corrected map to send you soon. Turns out that I messed up the beginning of my Sonic Advance - Neo Green Hill Act 2 map, something I only realized recently when I found heavily reduced maps someone extracted from the ROM.
